Volume and start level
A cast starts no louder than your limit: at the level the room is already at, or at the limit if the room is higher. After that, the volume is yours.
Start no louder than
Section titled “Start no louder than”In the extension’s Settings, under Finer points, Start no louder than is on, at 30. A room playing at 20 starts the cast at 20; a room left at 70 from last night’s party starts it at 30. Turn it up once the sound has started.
Turn the limit up or down there, or switch it off to start every room at the level it is at.
Set the start level for one cast
Section titled “Set the start level for one cast”Before you press Cast, each room you tick shows the level it will start at: “Now 45; starts at your limit of 30”, for example. Select it and slide it to start that room higher or lower, for this cast only.
If a room’s level is not known yet, it says “not known yet; starts no louder than 30”, and the room is asked when the cast starts.
A room added to a running cast starts the same way.
In a cast
Section titled “In a cast”Under Casting now, each cast has:
- one volume for the whole cast, which moves every room together;
- a volume and a mute for each room;
- the page’s own Play, Pause, Previous track and Next track, when the page offers them;
- Stop, which ends the cast and puts the rooms back as they were grouped.
Stop everything
Section titled “Stop everything”- In the extension, Stop on each cast.
- In the desktop app, Stop all casts in Rooms, in the Server view, or in its tray menu. That stops every cast through this app, including any started from another computer, whose owner has not been consulted.
- Quitting the desktop app stops every cast too.
Related
Section titled “Related”- Cast to several rooms: adding and removing rooms.
- Advanced audio settings: the rest of Finer points.
